Different Paths, One Goal: Your Wellbeing

WELCOME
Welcome to Green Clough Therapy.
I offer a safe, supportive, and confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges.
My aim is to work with you in a way that suits you best — whether through psychotherapeutic counselling or hypnotherapy.
Here, therapy is flexible: we explore different paths to find what works best for your wellbeing.
About Me
Hi, I'm Jo, founder of Green Clough Therapy.
I am a certified Pluralistic Counsellor, Psychotherapist, and Hypnotherapist offering a calm, supportive space for people navigating some of life’s most challenging experiences. My work is grounded in the belief that our emotional responses often make sense when understood in the context of our life experiences — particularly loss, illness, prolonged stress, and unresolved experiences from earlier life.
I have particular experience supporting people through bereavement, cancer and health-related challenges, depression, stress and anxiety, as well as difficulties linked to unresolved childhood or earlier life experiences. Alongside my private practice, I am a volunteer Counsellor with Cruse Bereavement Support and Cancer Support Yorkshire, which continues to inform and deepen my work with clients affected by loss and illness.
I work with clients both in person and remotely, offering flexibility to suit different needs and circumstances. Alongside talking therapy, I may integrate hypnotherapy where it feels appropriate and with your consent. Hypnotherapy can provide a gentle, focused way of working with the subconscious mind, helping to reduce anxiety, build emotional resilience, and support positive change. It is always used collaboratively and ethically, and never replaces the importance of the therapeutic relationship.
My approach is relational, trauma-aware, and tailored to each individual. I work at your pace, respecting your needs and boundaries, and recognising that there is no single path through difficulty. Therapy may involve reflection, understanding, practical coping strategies, or deeper inner work — depending on what feels most helpful for you.
At the heart of my practice is a steady, compassionate therapeutic relationship: a place where you can feel heard without judgement, reconnect with yourself, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and wellbeing.
